Behind the Scenes: Joy and Terror and Joy and Terror

Mrs. Davis-Hayes and I started this week feeling reasonably comfortable with how things were going.   Then most of the scenes we shot turned out to be test shoots–great problem solving with little usable footage.  Next Friday is our final deadline to finish recording video for the final episodes and the sheer volume of work is daunting.  The students’ enthusiasm and hard work keep us pushing.

On Thursday morning, a former student visited the building for Honor Society Induction.  I worked with her when she was in third-sixth grade.  Now 16 or 17, she works at the Boys and Girls Club across the street.  Before the event, she told me how much the students talk about the project and how excited they are…I hope she’ll accept my invitation to write up her thoughts for this blog.
